Let me try to give some context - perhaps that will help us to get on the same page.The issue with zoning my current steam heating system is that it would require us to run individual return lines from every single radiator (at least 15-20) down to the boiler(s), which would require a lot of labor.

Other than it being hot in the winter (steam heat; radiators on the ceiling) and later realizing how tiny it was (all the apartments in the building was only about 800 square feet) I remember the only problem we ever had was the risk of the toilet overflowing during very, very heavy rain storms (dad built some type of wooden contraption to place in the toilet during heavy summer rains to push pressure on the water).

Basically these would chill down the water that runs through the radiators / pipes in the house and this could cool the house down in the summer.

Pipes were stripped out, carpet had water damage...we removed super heavy old radiators and had our plumber put in modern fin based hot water heat registers.

- got residents on leases & up'd rents in a reasonable way - got rid of a couple problem residents that were degrading the living situation for everyone else in the building - cleaned up the outside / grounds a bit - did a punch list with each resident upon closing and went through each unit and completed tasks they were looking to see fixed - turned 2 units and upgraded everything inside - currently putting a lot of time and effort into getting the boiler and all radiators humming nicely What was the outcome?

I remember watching about radiation and granite counter tops a few years back.The tops had high levels of radiation which they attributed to what they were using to cut the granite slabs.They had a meter and above a certain reading was dangerous and could make you sick.
