Something that could be a great help to you is to go to a local REIA and find someone willing to mentor you in the early days.

I’m seeking anyone who could be a mentor/coach, someone I can shadow, or someone I can reach out to just to pick their brain.

Further, for a $300 - $400 investment you’d get a complete course on a particular investing methodology and the “mentor” who sold you his books and tapes would take your phone call personally and answer any questions you had.

Then I started doing small MF investing out of state and did a few deals with mentors, then worked for a company doing 100-500 unit MF for 4.5 years.

Both you and your wife should take the time to schedule a session together with an asset protection attorney who knows Connecticut and New York law.Good Luck!

Any recommendations on mentors on how to pursue this endeavor?

With exception of one mentor who I greatly admire and respect, I have spent 1000's over the years on RE courses collectively and not experienced this kind of support, encouragement or expertise without having to pay quite a bit for it.

I’m here to network, share experiences, and hopefully find some mentors or accountability partners along the way.
