It depends on the size, complexity and condition of the floor.If it is a rectangular room with carpet then easy.

If its rectangular with no garage, measure the outside width and depth and multiple to get square footage.

For example there is a piece of property nearby that sits on a 35000 sqft rectangular piece of land half of which is not being used at all. 

Might be a touch messy.Other thing is attic is open and rectangular,,,the ONLY thing in the road is the new roof support posts all in a straight line down both sides that support the mid roof and took the 4 inch bow out of it,,, last summers project. 

My pool isn’t rectangular shaped so I wasn’t sure if feasible but it sounds like it can still work and will save both me and the tenant a lot of money!

If the lot is rectangular, with 90 degree corners, you will get one answer (probably the one the questioner was thinking of), but if you have an odd-shaped lot, such as triangular, then the answer will be quite different.

ya, just for reference I'm on a iMac. when I open up the picture I can create a rectangular box and then it has the little icon that you would 'think' you should be able to click on to put text in the pic but it doesn't work :(basically, the same as you described but I think it doesn't like me lol
