One of these is at play for sure :) - Many people (few on BP, but many among the general populace) think that a lower sales price will lead to lower capital gains taxes, but in reality CapGains are calculated in a way that takes the "costs of sale" into account, meaning that weather you sell for $5k less or pay $5k in closing costs, it's a wash.- Mental Biases - "I'd rather give you a discount rather than pay your d*$% closing costs."
