We are having solar installed on our roofs and the solar folks recommended a mitsubishi heating and cooling system as a really efficient way of heating spaces.  

I installed a high SEER Mitsubishi 18,000 BTU heat pump / AC and then had an AC technician come out at the end to vacuum the lines and do the final electrical hookups and verify everything was good all for under $3k.

The reason forced air is so popular is because you can run both heat and A/C through the same system, which is easier.Mini-split systems from both Fujitsu and Mitsubishi function down to -13° F.

Maybe I then get Mitsubishi wall AC units and then they are paying for AC anyways.

@Jade Williams We have become quite found of them and have installed four dual-headed Fujitsu and Mitsubishi systems over the past 18-months.

Mitsubishi has some multi zone mini split heat pumps worth ne technology that enable the refrigerant to run fluidly to about -25F.

We have our whole house on Mitsubishi mini-splits, absolutely love them.

I would usually go with Mitsubishi even with the premium price but these days the other 2 or 3 big names probably make quality products as well
