The much smaller side will be used for storage misc.What I want to do:  Since using as SFH - run wiring in outside box from small side into outside box of larger side and have only 1 meter with a blank or cap on second meter- with the idea that electrical will be working in smaller side (will only use smaller side electrical for lights, very nominal use.) -  I wish to do this so can one day in future (if decide to do) use as a duplex with 2 meters. 

I have rented other properties with stare before and don’t even remember what they were painted because it was never even an issue.
