It highlights that this day in age we should be able to leverage the technology at our disposal to buy down the a lot of the risk of investing out of state.  

I'm a huge fan of disruption and innovation bit Zenplace is trying to substitute human labor and attention with technology which doesn't work well and (past) companies like Castle PM can attest to.

They're often bulkier and more traditional, too, having been around for a long time so there tends to be a lack of agility when it comes to market or technological forces (i.e. change is hard).Obviously there are tradeoffs to both... 

I hope Vacasa turns things around and recognizes that Vacasa is not just a technology platform but a labor intensive people oriented business (Guests, Owners, Employees).

They do have a few technology companies there ( Hp and Microsoft) that workers make a decent wage.

By old school, I mean does not embrace or use new technology, is not flexible with shorter minimum stays, operates in the off season (for very seasonal markets).
