One day I was searching in Craigslist for condos, and stumbled across some cheap properties in the city of Detroit.

I recently stumbled on this show.  

Since then, we moved back to Chicago, changed careers, had a kid and dealt with life in a small, one-bedroom apartment on the lake... all while being landlords on a great duplex in metro Detroit that we bought for very little.Fastforward to 8 months ago when I stumbled across Bigger Pockets while searching for the answer I had to a question about that property.

OK, I stumbled upon this thread while looking up information for LSF9 Master Participation Trust as there is a vacant home that I want to buy.

My strategy up to this point has been buy and hold rentals, and not really been fixer-uppers, or off-market deals, or seller financed deals, but I may have stumbled onto a possible deal that may be all three.  

I ended up getting second place for 70k.So the next day I was looking on Craigslist and stumbled across a super property for 80k. 2500 sf farm house on 9 acres, 5 year old foundation, but a total dump inside but tons of potential and character.

Is it even realistic to go to a hard $ lender if I stumbled across a deal?
