When a N/P is "wound down" after all debts are paid (which can include golden parachutes for top employees by the way) any remaining capital can be assigned to another qualified non-profit or go to the state, but I have never seen that happen!

Those are direct costs, and not including health care costs to wounded veterans (in my opinion the most important costs at this point) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Financial_cost_of_the_Iraq_WarIt is very difficult to find numbers on the Afghanistan war expenses.

Hi Michael,i am right there with you, i have my own home and 2 sfh and am also in calif.i have good policys and a 1 million umbrella.I have asked it here before and got no answers so i do not plan on getting a llcthe question i asked is if anyone one has ever heard of a Landlord who was sued and lost and for some reason insurance wound not pay , and he then said to himself Whew!
