1593.76 - 2 yr back taxes.The county wants to knock it down because it is near uptown Charlotte, and an eye sore, the siding or planks have all been ripped down and the house was being lived in by squatters.

Walking past 1000-2000 houses a week really makes these particular houses stick out like a sore thumb.All I can really think to myself is that there is money to be made... whether it's by taking these run down properties and bringing them up to the value of their neighbors, filling the vacancies, or taking a hassle property off someone's hands...

Because even on this level, I think the concept is sorely underappreciated.Many people take appreciation for granted, but I would argue that there is a "price" that must be paid in order to "gain" an appreciation of value.

I've been driving for dollars, writing down the addresses of distressed properties - the ones that stick out like a sore thumb within a neighborhood of nice/really nice houses.I get home and look them each up on zillow and then on the county's audit wesbite.

After making a few grand I'd probably be miserable, sore and pissed off and would take the money and buy some stock options or something.
