The hearing dates sound like this is an active process.Getting title insurance will be a way to work all of this out as the title examiner will have to verify all of the proper steps were taken to get the property out of the bankruptcy and the foreclosure was also done correctly.

Your title insurance company's title officer will examine your available documents and notify you in their preliminary report what exceptions to title are listed and what they require to eliminate each exception.

Unfortunately, in my experience, being able to run out a description is becoming a lost art amongst title examiners because of the time it takes to do so and the premium insures put on getting the work out the door rather than doing the job right.

By the way, we prefer to go through the reimbursement route instead of taking a deduction on Schedule E -- based on what I have researched, we would actually get more money, and it's cleaner and hopefully would rouse less suspicion from IRS examiners.4.
