Creative ways to get leads?

Question

Hey guys, I am a brand new realtor and I wanted to get some ideas on ways I can get more leads! Tell me the most creative way you have gotten a lead. Don't tell me to contact my sphere of influence, or call FSBO, or expired listings. I want to know the most creative ways and things you have done to stand out above the competition.

The failure with most lead sources is that people want them or ask about them because they want leads in the short-term, but the best lead sources you can create as a realtor are long-term, relationship-centric ones. So, one thing you can do is to focus on a subset of potential buyers that match one of your interests or former career path. Like, if you were a cop, you would start a long-term plan to work with a lender to understand the PBA loan and then market that as a first-time home buyers seminar or investor seminar to police stations in your area. If you are a golfer, same idea, different setup. Don't look for the hot ticket that will send you leads, build a funnel so leads come to you because you are the expert in one specific thing.

@Petar Tosevski you need to add value to others if you want to be successful in lead generation. There's no tricks or secrets to this regard. If you examine the BP forums, some of the most top notch agents are extremely resourceful when answering users posts, not to mention they do it on a consistent basis and ask for nothing in return. Everyone has their different niche for lead generation, but the one thing they all have in common is adding value in some shape or form. Creativity is important, but above all else consistency is the key. Also, as a side note, for new agents I highly recommend shadowing an agent that knows the industry in and out for the first year, just my two cents. Hope this helps!
