After listening to a number of the podcasts and reading through posts in the forum its become clear that keeping the condo is not a particularly savvy investment move.We are looking to overcome the emotional attachment of our first home and roll the approximately $125-150k of equity from the condo into a small multi-family in the Southwest.

I kind of had to overcome my background in finance, compiling metrics till the cows came home.  

I think this is something that a lot of newbies deal with in the beginning, but as long as we can overcome our own self judgement...we will succeed.

If the answer is real estate be prepared to put in a lot of sweat equity with long hours (as in any business) and be ready to overcome obstacles on the way.

Obstacles are a surety, but they can be managed, mitigated and overcome! 

Spend time meeting/trusting some (to overcome that lack) - then buy deals! 

Will banks, who gave me loan on these rental properties or primary home will have any objections, if so, any ideas how to overcome those. 4.

@Patrick Crotty Hi Patrick, I found this blog to be an interesting read about the various states and which ones have landlord friendly legislation vs. tenant friendly legislation: https://www.rentcafe.com/blog/renting/states-best-...While it's true that here in PA where I live, the laws tend to favor the tenants, I believe that if you have good plan in place and do your due diligence, you will overcome any obstacles.
