Both tobacco and alcohol use were higher in this group (it would benefit you to make sure there is no inside smoking allowed).Finally, the entire goal of the program is not to provide a veteran with a voucher forever but rather to help them become self sufficient so they can, down the road, pay their own way regarding rent and utilities. 

Encountered cavemen, junkies, and alcoholics, but managed to meet a few good contractors as well. 

But if you really want to give a tangible gift in the meantime, I love getting basketball box seat tickets, gift cards to fine dining restaurants/steakhouses, or wine/hard alcohol.

@Michael Volek  No, seriously, I'm not joking...advancement here (the country in general, and specifically small cities like this one) is made through sharing smokes and bottles of alcohol at dinners.

Then, I recently read "Set for Life" and have started heavily budgeting myself with the big money holes in my life (rent, car payment, groceries, alcohol/drinking) and seeing that I will be saving around 1500/month woke me up to the fact that I need to be investing now, not later, so that compound interest will work in my favor.

But can we do it somewhere that serves alcohol?

I would not allow them to drink any alcohol on the jobsite, period!

My friends think I am crazy to grocery shop at Walmart to save $20-30 a trip or to not drink much at all to save money on alcohol, but I can see the results so I keep moving forward.

They tend to leave bottles of alcohol. 

I would go to collect rent and they are sitting there eating McDonalds, watching cable TV with alcohol bottles in the garbage.
