New in dfw and slightly frustrated

Hello everyone,

I finally decided to make the jump to upgrade my account and make my first post here. I'm 24, brand new to REI and hungry for info. I've been scouring forums, podcasts and YouTube to absorb all the knowledge I can, however, I still feel alone due to the fact that the majority of my friends, family and colleagues don't share the same motivations as I do. I live frugally and have scraped up some cash in order to get started on my journey but the lack of connections with the same mindset as me is a little frustrating as I don't have anyone to bounce ideas off of or to partner with. Hopefully bigger pockets can provide me with some connections to new and motivated people so that we can grow together!
