The property may have a flaw that prevents it from getting financing  that a Fix & Flip guy is willing to take a chance on.

No amount of success stories, no number of impossible situations that Agents are not equipped to handle, no logical attack on flawed equity stripping logic or questioning if I was "ethically" obligated to offer top dollar (I'm not, you're not, heck, they don't even do it in retail) could slake the hate or turn the tide of an entrenched culture.

From what I have found, motivation cannot be created, only uncovered with good questions, if it is even there to begin with.

In addition to this, many people are not as comfortable on the phone and would prefer to hide behind the safety of their screen when talking to a buyer/seller/stranger etc.However, texting does have its flaws.

In this instance my assumption is that this was a preexisting condition which should have been uncovered. 

Of course, I had done some digging in advance, since I did uncover that they lived in a place they owned; I initially suspected they might be ready for foreclosure, but no lawsuit (PA is judicial) had yet been filed at the county courthouse. 

Philippe- In terms of large assets I would venture to guess the "future buyers" of a resale would be able to uncover the end of a PILOT program in their due diligence period.

And to justify paying more in interest so you can write it off...that's flawed logic at every level.I love it when anyone can use their own primary home to house hack. 

Generally people with zero rental history could be real, or they are hiding something, often social media will help to uncover those things.
