Also consider does real estate itself attract you or is if the self employed route appeal to you more with real estate being the best outlet to you at this point.

Home inspectors are great if you need someone to tell you about a window that doesn't stay open, an outlet that should be changed to GFCI, a grounded receptacle without a ground wire, and other minor problems. 

Changing outlets and switches isn't hard once you figure it out and looks nice for little cost.
