The chosen market to invest in is a massive hurdle.  

I've set aside 6 weeks in November and December to visit the states and visit homes in the market I've chosen.

Once you have only tenants you have chosen life is easy.

In the meantime, you should learn everything you can on these forums and blogs, especially about the type of investments that you would like to do and the correct steps with how to get started in your chosen investment areana.
