Would you rather someone have snakes and lizards or a medium sized golden doodle?

If it is mostly smoke damage to the interior it will be ok, but if the roof caught fire and burned away that's a whole different ball game.

With that said, you could at least obtain some "ball park" figures by reaching out to professionals who typically perform/complete routine and major home maintenance.  

.: @Marcus AuerbachThe thing I always think about when I look at the homes along the golf courses is how much I really don't want to know what goes on in them. main thing I look at is why the heck would they buy one 180 to 200 yards off the tee box right where golfers are going to slice or hook into their house break windows and then walk through your flower beds to find their lost ball...

Like politics, real estate is local (even hyper local sometimes) and none of us have a crystal ball.

Then start doing 2 at a time, then snow ball to 3, 4, etc as they scale. 

On the other hand, if you are looking for people that just give you money and you run the deal (limited partners, aka passive investors) that is an entirely different ball game.

These are golden.
