However, there are Australian investors as well and I have heard that there are quite a bit of them....Surely, you need to consider tax, financing, return and risk and that would be the same if you would be investing in real estate somewhere in Europe.  

There were a lot of turn key operators selling D class properties in the hood to unsuspecting Australians but most of those people have been pushed out of the market.

I also scored the house, for less than the cost of the lumber to build it, from a very tired Australian real estate investor, who was just done with being a landlord.

- Customers that the instant i offered a make things right, decided to post as many bad reviews as possible - if anyone would like to see my offer to pay them back, instantly followed by them creating a flame campaign to discredit me, I'll be happy to oblige - (look at the dates of the communications between us) I even paid some of their fees in advance so we could settle this faster and fairly - but they keep posting how much of a "horrible person" i am...Ask the "Australian group" if i offered to pay them back, and ask them if they got quite nasty the second i made the offer... i'll forward anyone the emails that asks  - you can make your own conclusions.

Good Afternoon,I was just wondering if any Canadians/ Australians had any luck in the past in Refinancing a property in America.

NOT ALL but many.. so there is no reason to sell properties below market value like was done 5 to 8 years ago.the only way to get instant equity these days is to be a value add or distressed property buyer who spends thousands and its their job.. pretty tough to do remotely.. its a completely different model.so whatever you pay for a property that is market value.. you do want to run comps though some out fits that targeted Australians will defiantly sell for ABOVE market value.. so its important to get true comps on the properties before pulling the trigger

I get Australian investors asking me if they can project manage their own rehabs from Australia lolI say its a disaster waiting to happen.
