How do you find great architects and civil engineers for a big construction project?

I'd like to know how I go about finding an architect to help draft the plans?

Starting by creating an initial concept with the homeowner, I worked with the Architect and General Contractor to nail down the final design.

Do permitting officials need to see a licensed contractor, architect, structural engineer, etc produced the blueprints?

Did you use a designer/architect for the remodel or just the GC?
