I was also the director of Art on the Ave Festival for 3 years and from 2003-2008 was Associate Editor of the Weekly Volcano Newspaper.

There's also an arts community around there too, but as a whole it's a really rough area and can trend towards war zone on some streets.

You may think that putting up some cool art work or unique furniture that you like will be appealing but what people really want is something simple and minimalistic that has clean lines and very little clutter.

From my own experiences, and especially from those of others, I'm learning that this is much more of an art than a science.

This makes it much more of a negotiation, gut feel, and an art, then it is a formula.

A liberal arts degree (for example) will have much less impact on future earning potential than will a degree in either a technical field or a field that would require educational requirements for certification.

Just like the junker car or tractor, it had better offer you something more than lawn art or a painful education.
