Rank them in the order of importance or starting with the one that is most likely to occur first.

I do know until you get to a certain rank you really dont have the resources or time to sink into viable real estate assets.

He knows I rank small “challenged” properties, like four to six houses on a single lot or a bunch of ugly rundown duplexes, at the top of my buying list.

My quick stab...Steamboat Springs, CO (Southwest just started flying here, ranked best ski town last year)Summit County, CO (sheer population boom to Denver is no brainer)Lake Tahoe, CA (second home boom in Truckee, Incline Village, etc. areas from mass exodus of Bay Area) Park City, Utah (proximity to airport and large/growing population base)Not sure of #5, maybe Stowe VT (Burlington) area 

I think the appreciation rate will be a little higher with better schools, and in down markets will rent better, but I am always surprised at how well and for how much homes with lower ranked schools are renting.
