I've been surfing MLS for multi-family properties in eastern NC, and running the rent calculators on them. 

I joined BiggerPockets by surfing the internet to find more info on wholesaling in real estate. 

Surf this site, read the info on house hacking, but be realistic with your expectations and good luck!

My hubby used to live in NC, and his family has a place on Top Sail Beach/ Surf City.
