E.g. if you want two towels left on the bed you can require the cleaner to take a picture showing it was done.

-If you can include the cost of a monthly cleaner into the rent, it is well worth it.

The other half is that nobody else, including your property managers and your cleaners, can spend more hours than you. 

I am 7 hours from our place and it has been easy to do once you get rolling.Just like @John Underwood said, find the right cleaner and handy people and it will be just fine.
