Seems this is the only sector of professional services that WE pay for that we can't select-- ludicrous. 

Hi @Tedroy Johnson - My wife works in the public service sector up that way and states the economy is very grim and does not have many job opportunities.

Lots of new jobs from the health care sector and the military presence is very strong.

I have previous experience from the HoReCa sector and have served as a professional soldier in the Norwegian Army.

These guys then got jobs in the private sector or another city/county with a different retirement system - they could see what was coming before it hit.I think that some of those massive concessions have recently been overturned by courts - California is doing somewhat better financially, too.

If you want to be a successful investor a high stable income is a better platform to start from regardless of what sector it's in.  

As they talked, my colleague told him that he knew someone who was hiring in that sector, and while he couldn't promise him a job, he could at least get him an interview.

@Logan HicksI understand that part of it, however there are many positions in public service that qualify for loan forgiveness which is a benefit to a job that can help offset a lower salary than what one would earn in the private sector.
