Credit Karma doesn't use a REAL credit score, just their own algorithm.

This is based on an algorithm that looks price per square foot of sold comps  using specific filters.

@John Barrett, I'm actually with you on this one, but not because it's a sneaky tactic necessarily to charge a fee, but because I think the quality of their product/algorithm is subpar and I hate their pricing model.

Purchase or refinance should not matter.My other other occupation is Information Technology and wearing that hat I don't think it will be too long before subjective human appraisers are replaced with computer algorithms.

I have found that their algorithm doesn't account for the true nature of neighborhoods.

I know that my personal home has probably $600K of "dead equity" -- $800K if the algorithm at Zillow is correct (pencil in my eyeroll).  

If you send the same message too many times on Airbnb, there is an algorithm in place that will flag your account as a potential spammer so just be careful.

This reminds me of AVM and other new age fancy formulas and algorithms that fancy, super sophisticated wall street types use.  

My question is, is this real or some artifact of the algorithm Credit Karma use to compute the scores?  

I know that Facebook algorithms, like Google, change constantly.
