It's difficult for me to even dignify this attitude among the ignorant "Chicken Littles", especially those in the media, with a response.

We are talking about $590, it's not chicken feed, but the ease of re-renting does count for something.

@Tanya Braun - Very interesting, and I'd much rather have someone local's take on it than the news (who tend to do their 'chicken little' impression at every opportunity.) $900/sf is pretty absurd money, but I know there are some other more 'international' markets that are just as wild.

OK, I'm going to stir the pot on this one a bit, here goes ... personally, I think escalator clauses are chicken s$%t ... if I were selling a property (and I have been in this situation), I would NOT accept escalator clauses, but rather just instruct the buyer to send in their highest and best offer.
