The demand for STR by both vacationers and investors have heated up which has raised prices for the homes and the nightly rates.

That said, its not really a typical or desirable area for AirBnBs since it is far away relatively from Austin where most vacationers want to be.

Based on comments that I hear from renters, there is a tremendous number of vacationers worldwide who are anxious to come here and go to Disney World and the other theme parks.

Those kind of appliances can be purchased used pretty cheaply, but are definitely perks...even if they aren't dealbreakers...for a lot of vacationers. 

In STR, if you’re doing it in an actual vacation market, the question is much more “can I do this” than “will it make money”You will be dealing with drunk vacationers in your home trying to figure out the remote to watch dirty movies at 2am. 

It's very nice with security to limit only permanent residents and vacationers into the island!! 

This was the speculation 10 years ago when a ton of British vacationers bought condos there for 40,000 Euros.

Air BNB calculator indicates a potential 44% Coc although I'm skeptical given that the property is not on the beach, it is centrally located between the beach and bay on a side street, in a residential area (about 13 minutes +/- from the beach) so probably would result in a higher vacancy than beach homes as vacationers are looking for walking proximity to the beach.

If it is smaller, you could cater to a couple or 2 which makes for a more relaxed type of vacationer.

Are they going to be vacationers, workers, visiting family and friends, needing a place to stay while buying a house?
