Joey Johnson Where do you shop for material?
19 February 2021 | 4 replies
I go to places like Construction Junction and Habitat for Humanity Restore to buy vintage glass light covers and doors (I much prefer a vintage wooden door over a cheap hollow modern door - and the modern junk is more expensive - I can usually get a used wooden interior door for $10-$20 bucks each and it looks great after it's painted).I also buy used storage cabinet/counter combos and put them in my smaller multi-family properties because those typically lack enough cabinet and counter space.
Jacob Beg What to do with this countertop?
2 September 2022 | 6 replies
@Jacob Beg you might pick differently depending if you rent or sell but hard to say without seeing, with a small section of countertop you could make it really nice with granite for about the price of laminate and for larger stretches laminate is relatively cheap compared to other options and could really upgrade the look if it truly looks badother options I can think of that would be cheaper would be more like bandaid fixes- painting, epoxy, using a thin veneer etc but I wouldn't recommend itYou could also check habitat for humanity type places for counter tops you could use and buy for low cost

Kristina Lumm How Can I Make Money with No Money?
11 January 2022 | 17 replies
So if you're going to do this, make sure you gather all the information you can....volunteer at a RE office as a weekend assistant, volunteer at Habitat For Humanity as a jobsite gofer, read every book you can get your hands on, even take the courses for RE and GC licenses (even if just for the info). No one is trying to shoot down your dreams, but realize that we've all done this for decades and seen (and experienced) the heartaches.....
