They will inspect your house and expect you to fix things that you may think are very minor and it can all add up (ex. a small area of chipped paint on a window sill).  

All of them have rather old, outdated kitchens - chipped, broken linoleum tile, 70's style cabinets with minimal storage space, and older appliances.

Properties pass inspections all the time as long as there is no peeling or chipping paint.

We did, and when they came back out they made us paint the porch again because it had chipped since the original inspection the summer before, and made us do a few other things again.If I would have known that information, I could have saved myself thousands of dollars.  

Keep an extra box of tiles in case one cracks or is chipped.

I'm simply pointing out the fact that rent increases and significant appreciation come form blue chip markets like costal CA.

From the outside, some of the visible concrete foundation looks to be chipping away.What would you guys do in this situation?
