Milwaukee code violations

I was talking with one of the DNS inspectors a few weeks ago and he told me some interesting things. 

1. If you have a no trespass sign on your property they cannot step foot on your property to look for violations.  They can walk the sidewalk and go into the ally to see them, and if the neighbors have easy access they can look from their property, but they can't go onto yours even if you just bought the property and had to pay for the inspection.

2. When you get the orders to correct, you can contest them.  There is little chance they will drop them but you can ask for an extension and get 1 year to correct

3.  If you completed the orders and they come out to do the final inspection, they can't issue any new orders unless they can prove that violation occurred after the last inspection.  We had this happen to one of ours, they found "new" stuff for us to do while they were there for the first order. I was told we can contest this and it will be dropped unless they can show it happened recently.

We have not tried any of this yet, and just put the signs on all of our properties so we will see if it helps
