I also recommend The Book on Estimating Rehab Costs which can be found on BP's bookstore.

Talking with a hard money lender may be a good idea, depending on which investment strategy you are thinking of pursuing.While I like podcasts and reading the BP forums, I've really enjoyed the books on the BP bookstore because I like to have a hard copy and they have up to date information/strategies.

I'd recommend starting with the Ultimate Beginner's Guide or any of the books in the Bookstore, both linked at the top of the page.

About 2 years ago I found "The Book on Investing in Real Estate with No (and Low) Money Down" by Brandon Turner (not related) at a local bookstore. 

Pick up some of the books here in the BiggerPockets Bookstore.
