I would express the concerns not only around the liability, but unless you are willing and able to sell a foot of the property to him, you can potentially have major issues when trying to sell the property.

I was okay until I measured out the opening for the bathroom door and expressed my concern regarding the width of the door, because the inward swinging door was going to nearly hit the toilet and or the sink if it were too big.

We recently bought flooring for a new house we are closing on and I was expressing strong opinions on the cost and style and I had to stop and told her "You're the expert on the interior design and what will last the longest relative to cost so you pick and I trust you" This has helped my wife who hasn't listened to a single podcast from BP move forward and buy a house and start renting our old one within 60 days!!

A bucket in the yard works but express that they cannot leave a mess in any nice finished lawn or driveway/sidewalk areas.Level 3 is fairly standard, so it might be worth confirming this is what they are quoting.Prime and paint is straight forward.
