I've had them not tell me about a roof leak until half the ceiling was caving in.Security deposits are okay, but in my area the judge won't let you keep them for a broken lease, only damages.

As it so happens, in most areas renters out-vote landlords by a significant margin.I'm reminded of the parable of the three animals trapped in a cave, two wolves and one sheep, voting on what to have for dinner.
