Hello everyone, still pretty new to REI and was planning on tackling investing on my own, but it turns out my immediate family (mother, and brother) want to go in as partners with me.

Once you figure which barriers are stopping from flipping, tackle them!

So if I remodel/fix them up, rents can be even higher.What are some of the best game plans to tackle this, short term (within 6 months of acquiring the property) and long term (1-3 years)? 

You can do it, just make sure you tackle the right problem.

@Tyler Rowley I was browsing through my "Promotions" tab in my email today and saw that I got the attached email a few weeks ago; I guess the only reason it went to Promotions instead of Spam is that it had all the right real estate words and acronyms 😀I blacked out the company name, phone and website because I'm not promoting or recommending this particular company (especially since I have no idea who they are, i.e., they essentially did spam me).But I wanted to show you an example of the kind of company I was talking about - a niche lender catering to real estate professionals, especially professional rehabbers/flippers, that's willing to do high LTV loans in some cases - so you'll know they really are out there in case you want to search for similar companies in the future.

You may find that your rapport with the tenant leads you to tackle the PM duties completely. 

I haven't quite started tackling the problem for myself yet, just started researching last night.

Do you have a proposed scope of work you would like to tackle or are you open to suggestions?

I think these are all great questions but before you tackle any of these, maybe the best question to ask would be why real estate?

If you are completely new and this is you first deal, personally, I'd choose to tackle another.
