This is very short sighted and you might save money, or you might be sued for millions and go to prison when one wire that got nicked sparks in a wall and the building burns down killing someone.

If the properties are big enough, sizable equity, meaningful amounts that you would NEVER WANT TO RISK LOSING if co-mingled with another liability, then it's advisable to be separated.Consider, once the assets reach a different size (dollar / liability exposure), separate the liability from others.
