@Mike H. it sounds more like the inspector (it is amusing when a plumbing inspector or electrical inspector catches things he wasn't there to look at, but I be we all have been there.) wants to see the work performed by a licensed contractor and not the homeowner when he says "inspector asking us to get the professional to replace it".
