Don't go after MLS deals, get on a wholesalers list and also consider moving your target area to outside of Plano possibly in Murphy, Wylie and surrounding areas. 

I just relocated to Plano, Texas.

We currently live in the Plano/Frisco area.It's definitely a hot market and homes are selling like crazy...Is anyone or do you know of anyone looking to sell their MFH, either completely vacant or half vacant (to live in one unit & rent out other unit)?

Check out close to where you work #1....so you don't waste money on gas and travel wear and tear...unless you work from home....then you can live anywhere.Next up, look at areas where others might rent rooms.....maybe around the schools....UTD in Richardson....UTA in Plano....UNT in Denton....

You might have to go with single family and rent bedrooms.Probably some MF in the older parts of Plano and Richardson that might work...or Carrollton...would be the closest areas.
