You may have to concede on some things you don’t want to do like installing a pathway, but it’s less costly than them throwing the book at you when you try to show them the codes or them forcing you to revert it to its original state.

I feel like they need us to terminate the lease in order to get a new long term tenant in there but they are not at all willing to concede anything, ie give us an early termination date that will exist no matter the outcome of the new possible tenant.

I concede rent all the time.. last winter when it was cold I let tenants go 3 months without paying so they could afford heat then they just moved out when they needed to start again.But then again rental income to me is inconsequential to what I do..and so I don't focus on it much.things like this..
