Strategy to get to my goal

I am an entrepreneur by nature, by a good intrepepreneur by practice. My thoughts are to build off of a system which I am setting up. I have 2 companies (and a day job). The two companies should turn profitable in calendar year 2013, and the though was to use their cash throw off to fund my REI. Based on what I can get through that I estimate about 20,000- 40,000 or so throw off a year. This will be invested in properties in my target markets, at a rate of 1 buy and hold rental property for year for the next 10 years. Based on this I believe I can be diversified in small business, large business, real estate, and traditional investment.

This is on top of a day job-which I love (and pays all the bills). Due to this I will concede to needing to pay a property management firm from the beginning.

Does this strategy make sense to you?
