. :)Back in college I had a prof (who was speaking outside their Ph.D core competency) very carefully (so as not to offend anyone) opine basically that it might be the case that some countries are poorer than other countries b/c some of those countries had been influenced more by religions that were more about "faith based" outcomes, and less "works based."

Convicted felons are not a protected class.Discrimination laws apply to protected classes: gender, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, race, disability, etc.Also, as previously mentioned in this thread, he is more likely to have legal problems for allowing him to stay.

So you should not expect to be given a list of 5-10 applicants and "pick the best one" (you'd run the risk of applicants who were denied housing saying it was because of their race, color, religion, or other protected class).
