Here’s my two cents:SFHw/MIL all day, for me - be open to buying something that doesn’t already have a “turn-key” MIL to save some moneyI don’t know how/if interest rates would make a difference between SFH/Multi-FamilyYou heard correctly that you must occupy part of the home w/ MIL - it’s a zoning thing Financing is personal preference and plan dependent - how much you put down, to me, depends on how the property will cashflow and what maintenance/improvements are needed right up front.
