If it is using a wall mounted thermostat this is preferable.

If a temp meter in house says 82 but thermostat is reading 78 then something is off.

If a tenant comes home at a time when they are usually away (i.e. a class was cancelled or skipped) and overrides the programme in the thermostat to raise the temperature in the unit, they frequently choose the permanent hold of the override (because it requires less input then selecting a duration for the override) and, subsequently leave the house.

One unit does have the A/C vent but the tenants in the other unit would control the thermostat :(The numbers are great as an investment but I am afraid we will buying a never ending war between the tenants.This is a legal 3 plex I wonder how difficult and how much it is for FPL to add one electric meter.

In addition if you turn it down the room takes a while to warm back up when you increase the thermostat.
