We started saving in a 529 when my wife was pregnant...... we make good $$.....we have enough to send him to a moderately expensive school with no issues...... make too much $$ to likely get any financial aide....He play football and want to play in college, so that is factoring into his decisions.....he's good but not good enough to get any decent level of scholarship $$....grades are average so not much help there either....My dilemma...... he really doesn't have any real clue what he wants to do or where he wants to do it.

I like the suggestion of making it seem like her idea to stay an extra month or two to avoid moving in dead of winter - she is also pregnant and due in spring.That said, it is clear she is “testing” me and I know I can get ~$200/mos more for her apartment than what she pays.
