Tropical Storm Emilly had SWFL feeling like Seattle for a couple of days!

Grand River and Evergreen area.

 Sitting here in NW Houston / cypress area (290 and Huffmiester, west of hwy 6 / 290) under tropical storm Harvey now, were higher and drier than a lot of folks, thank god for that.

I was hoping to acquire some land to build a retirement resort, but it seems many of these tropical countries are heading towards lease instead of freehold purchase. 

In tropical environments like Florida, from what I've read, we have a very conducive climate for multiple species of termites.

I understand there is an upkeep required with landscaping, but I'm thinking a few evergreens and some mulch.

Are they standard deciduous trees (oak, etc) or evergreen?

The initial tropical storm resulted in many small to small/medium branches coming down, nothing large.

I am not sure that's the correct forum.We have an evergreen fund of funds, and we continuously invest in syndications, mostly 506(c), so it means that the fund must be accredited.
