Don't mind the hurricanes here on the coast because investing just inland in SE Houston area is also popping like the others.

So I can pull money from there tax free.I am also retired Navy and will get a small pension from GE.I currently bring in a good bit more from my rental empire than from my day job as an Electrical Engineer.

I luve in the inland empire area

@Ashley CastI have been targeting Inland Empire recently and have a business partner that also has his license.  

Migration to Florida has seen population growth almost everywhere, and in that people had to start moving inland.

I have met a few that started with very little and built their empire over time.

I have owned in land trust and there is no value there just extra work, a lot of extra expenses and I am not  a billionaire trying to hide assets  and everything I own is on my return as I want to pay taxes so I can get credit lines.    

The second house is located in the Inland Empire which I bought in 2003 for $240,000.
