If it's Hardwood or any sort of wood, pull the carpet out and let dry, carpet re-install is cheaper then subfloor replacement and do it ASAP.

Probably want to power wash the deck first and then paint and seal.Sometimes you can just flip the boards over and they look like new underneath and re-install.

One time I butted the "groove" part of a board to a board I had cut that had no "tongue" because I did not want to waste a board so of course the pieces looked great initially when installed but later the one board would move when walked upon and create a gap.2) remove all baseboards and re-install them afterwards.

The city would not give us any direction on how to re install the firewall and informed us to seek the help of an architect or engineer.
