If it were a single family home It might be ok to have it in the carport or yard somewhere but it is duplex so there are tenants to the left in the left side unit.Thank you for your feedback.

I also added 4 new basement windows that provide proper egress, rewired the basement and landscaped the yard. 

They'd each have their own entrance, yard and living space, on the same lot.

You'll have to find an answer based on zoning, demand, and your ability to control the appearance of the additional improvements - you don't want to create a junk yard behind your triplex!

I've got about $10k I'm willing to spend, and here's what I've come up with as far as updates go:- Add shelving for grocery storage - there's very little today- Rehab the front porch (you can feel the plywood sink in places as you walk over it)- Repaint the outside of the house (paint is peeling)- Add a fence for the back yard- Add a back door (there's only one entrance/exit to the house)- Pave the driveway on both sides of the tree out front- Add exterior lights to the side and back of house- Update kitchen counters (granite?)
