Hello,I bought a Triplex in San Antonio using a VA loan. 

We bought a brand new property in Queen Creek, AZ.

Too many people just bought properties and threw IKEA furniture in them and called it a day.

(Your $12k down and your new $24k debt.)The “trick” in regards to less than 10% down is people think they bought and asset or have equity.

I just bought my first STR and hopefully closing in February.

I walked all the nearby comps, gave the seller my opion/list of what his property was "missing" (fenced yard, light staging, add a 3 board fence panel and landscaping here...) and advised him to get a surveyor to mark the lot corners...The previous agent had not suggested they get a surveyor to mark the lot corners when he bought the property to flip....there's a chance the house or driveway may encroach the neighboring property.

I bought my first property in September 2023.

I really appreciate your opinions.I still have some doubts because I know people who have bought properties from a distance from Spain and it has worked well for them.

That’s great advice Taz, I’m currently working on saving enough money to get started, house hacking is hard for me at the moment because I just bought a house 2 years ago, I would have to sell my house(which is in a great neighborhood great location) and use that money to fund the duplex which isn’t totally out of the question, I would like to keep the house if possible but also would like to get real estate investing more.
